10 Signs That You Are the "Blackhood" in Riverdale

(A deep-seated thought about depression)

Have you been following the series Riverdale since day one? Are you confused or are you shattered by the events that have taken over your thoughts? From the ins and outs of Riverdale, I am sure you've also been in the position of the Blackhood yourself. From the moment you wake up to the time you close your eyes, you question yourself, "Who is the Blackhood, really?" You look in the mirror and suddenly get attacked by your own identity. “Maybe I am one with the Blackhood. Maybe not.” This list will make you think that you, yourself, are the mastermind of all the darkness and evil of Riverdale.

1. You can't show your true identity.

Like the Blackhood in Riverdale, you sometimes get to the point where you really don't want to show who you truly are. Maybe because you're too afraid of not being accepted or don‘t feel you belong. You get too attached to your inner self, and that makes you want to isolate your true self from others.

In line with this is the Blackhood; he wears a hood to cover himself from the darkness he has within. He doesn't want the people of Riverdale to be empowered by knowing him, and that could be the same with you: once you show who you are, it will be the death of you.

2. You aspire for the attention you think you deserve.

From your darkest intentions to your darkest aspirations, deep in your heart you still seek the love and attention you need from people. The Blackhood seeks attention by killing people. Likewise with you, you tend to attack other people just to gain what you want. You tend to lose your way and feel the end justifies the means, which is not always the case.

3. You lose power from the unity of connection of other people.

The Blackhood tends to get weak from facing the unrelenting actions of Jughead and Betty as they look for ways of answering Riverdale’s problems. He tends to detach himself from the town, knowing that sooner or later he will be revealed.

As you tend to get overpowered by the connection and unity of other people, you lose control; you panic, you get distracted. You don't get ahold of your actions.

4. You tend to escape from goodness.

At times you feel empty and lonely, which leads you to go to the bad side, instead of the good. You are consumed by your own rallying thoughts and ideas that attack you from within.

The Blackhood manifests the opposite of a clear mind and heart. He suffers from agonizing thoughts and faces a crucial event in his life.

5. You feel like you're doing the right thing, but you're not.

The Blackhood mentioned that he wants to cleanse the sins of Riverdale by killing people. He wants to achieve prosperity and peace in the town, not realizing that his actions are against the norm.

Maybe sometimes you act in a way that you think is right, or for the common good, but it’s not. There are times we don’t act in the way we planned to. As people say, "The end does not always justify the means."

6. You feel everything and nothing at the same time.

Have you ever experienced that feeling – where you’re already carrying the weight of the world, but you have no choice to get back up? Blackhood may have also been experiencing that. Maybe he doesn't know what to do at this point, but sooner or later he'll realize the darkness inside him.

Studies show that these simultaneous feelings represent being unwanted, feeling anxiety or in serious cases, can even lead to depression–so heads up.

7. You seek revenge.

Maybe you have been bullied or attacked – either physically or emotionally. So you seek revenge, to help boost your confidence, or to stand up for your rights. The Blackhood may have experienced the need to seek vengeance in a way no one else can understand. We have seen the stories of others, but have we seen his?

8. You have a story to tell.

You want to let the world know that you exist, that you have a place in this universe. The Blackhood would also like to get other people’s perspectives and let them think about what he has in mind. We have our own stories to tell, but maybe we are not ready yet to let them out.

9. You are consumed with pain.

Sometimes you try to cause pain to others because you have experienced it yourself. You want to let them feel what you are feeling and let them know that they don't have the right to hurt you. It's a two-way track. You get hurt, you love and get hurt again. It has never been easy – neither for you nor the Blackhood.

10. You want to end this.

What you’re experiencing right now may be just a temporary feeling, or a serious long-term one. But throughout, it will never be the end, because you’re alive; living. Studies show that depression is not readily understood by other people. Symptoms may arise, but everyone’s perspective means they’re seen differently. Beyond that, though, helping one another will always be a key to aid depression.
