Anxiety has crept into our daily lives far too often, for far too long. Although this can be attributed to a variety of reasons—overall wellbeing, technology, work—there’s also a number of ways to reduce anxiety and stress in your life. Whether it be by cutting back on caffeine, turning to more holistic healing methods in the benefits of full-spectrum cannabinoid rich hemp extract, or by changing your diet in its entirety, taking the right steps will ultimately help you reduce your daily anxiety. But first, you need to find out what the right steps for you are. What is it that will help you alleviate your anxiety?

Get some fresh air and go for a walk.

We so easily find ourselves in sedentary positions—in the car on our daily commute, in the office working nine to five, and then we finally get home just to sit down again and watch Netflix. During our days, if only once, we need to stand up, step outside, and go for a walk. Especially for those who struggle with anxiety, it is imperative that you get some fresh air and get the blood flowing with a nice walk. It doesn’t have to be long, 10 or 15 minutes will suffice, and it will go a long way in both your mental and physical health.

Drink more water.

Do you drink enough water per day? If you drink two liters (or half a gallon) of water per day, then you do and good for you! Believe it or not, most Americans do not drink enough water per day in their daily recommendation of eight glasses. Adding more water to your diet is another habit that will help you improve your health mentally and physically—after all, the human body is 70 percent water.

Run your hands under cold water.

Speaking of water, this is a strange tip that just might help you reduce your anxiety in the difficult moments leading up to a panic attack: Run your hands under cold water. It sounds so simple, but it works. The feeling of the ice cold water rushing over your hands will help you take a step back from the stresses of your mind and bring you back to reality. Just close your eyes, relax your mind, and remember to breathe. It will be okay.

Cut back on caffeine.

Caffeine dependency is one of the most common addictions in the United States, and the withdrawal felt when we need that second (third or fourth) cup can be even worse for those who suffer from anxiety. Your head hurts, your body begins to fidget, and it is impossible to concentrate on the task at hand. Do yourself—mind, body, and soul—a favor and cut back on the caffeine.

Note: Yes, caffeine withdrawal can also be anxiety-inducing, however, CBD and other holistic healing methods may be here to help.

But it is okay to drink tea. (In moderation, of course.)

“Everything is okay in moderation,” so they say, and although a decrease in caffeine intake will serve your mental health well, it may also be helpful to drink tea. Some have found that starting their day with a cup of tea can help alleviate any early morning anxieties, while a nice, soothing cup of chamomile tea before bed will also lead to a good night’s sleep!

Get the proper amount of sleep.

Hand in hand with a cup of bedtime tea, it is vital to our bodies that we get enough sleep when we do wind down for bed. It’s recommended that you get seven to eight hours of sleep per night to assure that you wake up refreshed. As well as being refreshed and ready for the day ahead, you’re also more likely to feel anxiety-free, as a loss in sleep will tend to lead an anxiety-ridden morning, waking up on the wrong side of the bed.

The new wave in holistic healing, using CBD oil for anxiety relief has never been easier, but it is important to understand that these oils range in the ways they’re used and their purposes. TerraGold Plus offers a wide line of CBD-infused products including oils that provide you with the right daily dose of natural wellness. Available in different flavors and sizes, the 250mg option offers a great on-the-go oil that you drop under your tongue for holistic healing in minutes, reducing stress and preventing anxiety throughout the day to come.

And for those who had to skip over the previous step—yes, CBD oil will help you sleep as well!

Exercise!

If a quick 15-minute break to take a walk around the block can serve you well during a long day, think about how much adding other exercises to your daily or weekly routine will help. Going for a run or hitting the gym after a day at the office can do as much wonders for your mental health as they do for your physical health. It’s a great way to unwind and people tend to find they sleep better after a good workout, so exercise can compound well with other habits.

Enroll in a yoga class.

If you’re considering joining a gym, many gyms also offer classes that will help reduce anxiety, one of the best being yoga. Yoga is a great way to practice mindfulness, helping you focus on the moment—down to your heartbeat and your breathing. Of course, yoga can also be done at home, but for those who are especially restless, it is helpful to practice in a group with others and an instructor.

Find the right balance.

“Balance is the key to life,” no? In practicing mindfulness, it is important to find the right balance in all aspects of your life. This may be a chemical balance, in which case CBD oils will help you, or a literal, physical balance. Maybe technology has taken over your life? Trade your phone for a journal, or turn off Netflix and read a book instead—if only for an hour or so of your day. Know what your brain needs and your anxiety-free mind will thank you later.

Reconsider your diet.

Similar to how so many people fail to drink enough water, many people do not have a healthy diet, be it in what they eat or how much of it they are eating. Everyone is different, though, so do what’s best for you. Take a good, hard look at what you put into your body and reconsider the food choices you’re making. This might be as simple as eating smaller portions or as switching to an entirely different diet. Whatever it is, do what’s best for you and your health, mentally and physically.

Much like how dietary habits can vary, the results of holistic healing also vary from person to person—not only in respect to essential oils, but in other products as well. While one method may work wonders for one person, another person might not see the same results after using the same exact method. For this reason, it comes highly recommended that you try different substances to find out which CBD product is right for you.

Of course, this can also get quite expensive, but lucky for you, TerraGold Plus understands and has you covered. TerraGold Plus offers a starter kit of CBD-infused products that includes essential oils, body balms, CBD Patches, and more. There’s bound to be something(s) in here for everyone.

Just breathe.

At the end of the day, there’s only so much you can do. We’re not perfect. We’re only human. Anxiety gets the best of us—some of us more than others—so no matter what, please remember to do one thing: Breathe.
