Dealing with anxiety can really take over your life. From base line normal anxiety to complete panic attacks, it’s hard for everyone! You just need to take care of your body and notice it’s warning signs before things get out of control!

Step 2

Don’t be afraid to talk to your doctor/psychiatrist about going on medication. It may sound scary, but being put on the right medication can often times make things so much better. Also do not get discouraged if the first medication does not work. Everybody is different & everyone needs different things, there are so many medications to try, one will work for you eventually!

Step 3

Meditation may sound silly to some, but can work some serious wonders!! If you’re struggling with social anxiety & don’t want to get out of bed in the morning. Take five or ten minutes to do some meditation to put your mind in a safe place. Those five or ten minutes can change your entire day. Meditation does not work the first try, it’s something your body and brain need to get used to. If you do it everyday for a week you will start feeling results!

Step 4

Don’t isolate yourself. Hiding from your anxiety can only make things worse. Staying in your room by yourself just gives you the opportunity to be alone with your thoughts and overthink. It’s much better to be distracted and surround yourself with people you’re comfortable with.

Step 5

Try to find your triggers. Do you get anxious when you’re around lots of people? Do you get anxious before a test? Once you find your trigger it becomes a lot easier to target a solution. Try to focus on what you’re thinking about when you feel that sense of panic setting in, that way when someone asks you what causes it, you’re able to tell them & find a solution that will help you! If you already know your trigger but aren't interested in talking to someone, look into some self help books! They can be very helpful and eye opening.

Mental illnesses are not something that are easy to deal with & they should be taken seriously. Do not be afraid to reach out for help before things get too bad. Hopefully you are able to use some of these tips & find them helpful. :)
