How I Didn't Let Depression Ruin My Life
My immediate family has a history of depression and anxiety. My mom and sister both take anti-depressants and my sister also deals with severe anxiety. I always thought I was an exception. I was not. In grade 10 I went through a period of depression that lasted months. I didn't realize what it was at the time. I had no will to go to school so I stayed home most days. I'd miss two-three school days a week. I still got by with average grades. In grade 11, I figured out what I wanted to do in life. I found passion and motivation and was able to overcome the depression. I started working hard in school and rose to the top of my class. I graduated with honours and was accepted into a university overseas for a masters program.

How To Cope with Overpopulation
There are roughly 7 billion people on this planet. No one knows exactly cause it's a little hard to keep track. But for every two people that die, about four are born. The world's population is growing by about 2.5 people per second. Now 7 billion people is a lot to take in. Let's put it this way, if you were to say a number a second, it would take over 220 years to count to 7 billion. However, we have plenty of space on earth to fit all 7 billion people. So if there's enough space for us all, then what's the big deal?

Why We Need to Stop Killing Sharks
Sharks are boss ass creatures. Despite being just necks with teeth and fins, they are pretty much the only reason we as humans are still alive. Let me explain. Sharks are the top of the ocean's food chain. Nothing in the ocean looked at a shark and said, "You and me fucker, let's go." They don't sleep and most types never stop swimming. So ya, they're menacing as fuck. And I'm sure that's why humans decided that they needed to die.

How Disease Shapes Human HistoryTop Story - July 2017
I'm going to talk about a subject that has become revitalized in the past few years and that is the impact that disease has on us as humans. Most people do things to prevent the spread of diseases in their day-to-day life as second nature because of the effect it's had on us in the past. Such as washing their hands or sneezing into their elbow. However, for the majority of people in first-world countries, it doesn't weigh on our mind 24/7 as it does in say, less developed countries. In modern life, with all of our current medicine, we don't seem to feel that a tiny micro-organism can be our undoing as it could have in ancient times but perhaps we'd better think again.

Is University Right For You?
If you're reading this, then you're probably wondering if university is the right choice for you. As I write this, I'm having the same thought. Let me explain. Mid-way through high school I discovered my passion in life. Or at least one passion in life. I wanted to be an aerospace engineer. I wanted to build new and ever evolving technologies for space. It was then I realized the work it would take to get there. It would mean buckling down, studying hard to get into a good university and graduating top of my class. It started off great. As soon as I began to apply myself, school work became no problem and my grades quickly rose to highest in the school. After graduating I set my sights high by apply to the University of Bristol overseas. I was accepted and my life was right on track. But things don't always go according to plan as I'll explain later. But whether you're currently in University or taking a gap year or whether you're just a high school student wondering if this is the path you should take. I will tell you my story and hopefully give you some helpful insight into your own position and desires. So if you're still with me, just hang in a little longer and we'll get to you.

Don't Be a Dick at the Movies
If you've ever gone to a movie theatre, then you are an asshole. I said it and I'm not sorry. I worked at a movie theatre for four years and I encountered the rudest and dimmest people I'd ever met. I don't know what it is about going to the movies that makes everyone lose their wits and common courtesy but it's outrageous.

Why the Yukon is Your Next Travel Stop
Yukon is a well-kept secret in the middle of fucking nowhere, Canada. As one of its 3 territories, it has a small population leaving wide expanses of untouched nature. And when I say small population, I mean less than 0.08 people per square kilometre. Since there are so few people, the majority of the environment has been undeveloped making it the perfect place for those looking to connect with nature.
