Siren's Serenade
Amelia had always felt an inexplicable connection to the sea. As a child, she would sit on the weathered rocks of the shoreline, her gaze lost in the rhythmic dance of the waves. Her grandmother used to tell her tales of ancient legends, stories of mystical creatures who lured sailors with their hauntingly beautiful songs.

Love from the Ukraine
Something struck me about him when I saw his picture on an online dating app. I couldn't see his eyes, but his striking blonde hair, and his charming smile made me swipe right. Luckily for me, he had matched with me, and it wasn't long before I received a message from him. He introduced himself as Lane. We chatted back-and-forth about typical nonsense, and he soon had my number. I heard his voice for the first time the same day I matched with him, and it was high, but he had a very cute accent. He said he was from the Ukraine originally, and was adopted into the US by, apparently, a rich family. This didn't matter to me.

Plagued: Living with the Voices
It was like I was in a nightmare. It started when I was first hospitalized. I accidentally overdosed on melatonin tablets, only desperately trying to go to sleep after being sleep-deprived for nearly 20 hours. I ended up unresponsive, unable to move, and my best friend was there at the time. She saw that something was wrong, and she knocked on the door next to mine to tell my aunt what was going on. I remember my aunt squeezing my hand and telling me that if she could hear me, I should squeeze her hand. I did so, just barely. Soon enough, the ambulance came and rushed me to the hospital.

Virginity
I remember when I first lost my virginity. I was 18. I had traveled up to New York to see my long-distance boyfriend at the time. We'll call him Arthur. It was late winter, nearly springtime and, of course, there was still a lot of snow laying around in this northern state. I had purchased a train ticket, planning on staying at his house while his parents were away for the week. I was nervous, excited, and simply giddy. I was in love, after all.
