A Minute? More Like Eternity
I sit down ready to eat, my stomach roaring with anger. I decide to view the menu. A cheeseburger with tomatoes, lettuce, and lots of ketchup. Of course, don't forget the side of fries and a vanilla milkshake. Simple. Basic. I smile to myself, thinking about how easy it was for me to pick the food I wanted. I almost laughed, but I caught myself. I started to wonder how concerning it would be to see a middle-aged woman with accidental tan skin with bright blue eyes and jet black hair to be laughing to herself. At a table. Alone. I look around, hoping to see someone else without an eating partner to talk, laugh, and experience their meal with. I continue to scan the room awkwardly, trying not to be obvious that I am observing people. Their small habits and features. I look down at my nearly empty table. I stare at my purse, hands, and the tiny condiment bottles that I do not dare to use.

Child Labor
Chapter 1: Child Labor Child labor happens in many countries. Child labor is when children are forced into hard labor, primarily when it is considered barbaric or cruel. Although child labor happens all around the world, some of the places where child labor occurs the most include Pakistan, Afghanistan, North Korea, Sudan, the Dominican Republic of the Congo, and Ethiopia. Even more so, the sub-Saharan regions in Africa have child labor. They hold the highest child labor rate of 59 million children doing labor. Of the 59 million children, 10.4% are doing hazardous work like producing tobacco (which can cause nicotine poisoning) and mining (which has toxic fumes and unstable grounds). Child labor is currently a problem in many countries and continues to affect people’s lives.

Afterimages
Everyone has experienced an afterimage at some point in their life. Yet, most people don’t realize what they are. An afterimage is a faded illusion of an object continued to be seen for a brief moment, even after you have stopped looking at the actual object. Sometimes the colors are very vivid and bright, while other times, the colors are dull or even inverse or opposite from the original color. Afterimages can all look very different, varying from blotches of light, faded images of the original object, or of course in reversed colors. Afterimages happen all the time, try to recognize it the next time it happens to you.
