It did not sell well in its early years, but later went on to become a popular novel. Lord of the Flies has been challenged and banned by many different groups and people throughout the years. Certain school districts in states such as Texas, Arizona, and Florida have banned the book because of claims that the book has racism, sex, violence, obscene language, and statements that insult God, women, and minorities throughout it.

Donald Trump, Fake News, and the Illusion-of-Truth Effect
Over the past year, the topic of “fake news” has been all over the news thanks largely in part to Donald Trump and the 2016 presidential election. Do these differences in the brain (that we are not in control of) account for someone being a pedophile, or is there an aspect of voluntary will towards being attracted towards children? There is more research that needs to be done to determine if it is possible to prevent pedophilia and rehabilitate, rather than punish pedophiles, for something they might not even be in control of.

Brazil is losing much of its forests because of the need to make room for cattle and soybeans. These two factors are the biggest reasons for Brazil’s deforestation problem. The public and the government have been working to stop the spread of deforestation in vulnerable places like Brazil, but more work needs to be done to prepare for the future growth of the world.
