How I Have Dealt with Depression (Becoming Low) in the Past

Everyone has their different ways of dealing with depression. Some things may work for you and other things may not work at all. First thing first. Don't cut. Don't make scars on your body because you are depressed. You are a beautiful person whether you are a male or female. You are beautiful and cutting doesn't help. It may feel like it does, but it doesn't. My little sister used to cut because of what happened in our life. Now she is doing better after finding someone to talk about what is happening.

One thing I do when I get low. I write. I write down what I feel and why I feel that way. I try to write every time when I get low but I sometimes don't have time. If you have the time then you should write. Even if you have to set time every day to just write one page you should. It doesn't have to be when you are low. You can write about your day and what happened. It is a way to get your thoughts out and allow you to feel as if there is a weight lifted off your shoulder.

Another thing, find a person to talk to. One who understands you and would listen to you. If you can find someone who understands what you are going through. It is still good to find someone to talk to. That way when you talk they can give you helpful advice or even just give you a hug.

This article may be short. But just know that if you are low that someone is always there for you. If you have no one then you can message me and I will be there for you. Everyone deserves someone to talk to. To help you get things off your chest. No matter what happens in life. You are a beautiful wonderful person. You do matter. You are important. You are here for a reason. We only have one life. Please don't give up. Keep fighting.

Life is worth living. You may not think it now but in the future, you will. Just keep moving forward and not giving up. I used to think that life wasn’t worth living. I met my best friend and the person I fell in love with. He helps me so very much. He helps me more than even a therapist has helped. But if you find the right therapist then, by all means, keep going to that person. They help you. The person who helps me, allows me to talk and then gives me advice. He helps me when I am low. He somehow always finds a way to make me smile.

Even distracting yourself helps. Like playing games online or even board games. Or you can draw, paint or even color. Yes, I know coloring is for kids but no matter how old you are it does help. You could even start to learn something new. Like a new language, or cooking. There is even reading. With me, when I read I feel as if I am the main character and I can actually see myself in the world. I will get so into a book that someone will be calling my name for ten minutes and I never hear them or realize that they are in the room with me.

Playing video games helps a person as well. If you do online gaming and talk to others online then you can actually make some great friends. My friend has made some good friends playing online. When I am with him, he and I actually play together and have fun. Or even watch movies. No matter what there are things or people that can help. Just please don’t give up.
