This is how I am sometimes

Hello there, let's start out with what mental health is, shall we? Mental health is a person's condition revolving around their psychological and emotional wellness; sometimes we have very positive mental health, sometimes it's average, and sometimes it's negative. No one really wants the negative one. It makes you feel down, depressed, psychotic, and sociopathic. These are things we don't want, we all want to be happy right? Happy with what we do, who we are, how we express ourselves, but sometimes we don't get to the negative side on our own. There are bullies at school, rapists on the street, abuse in some homes, deaths of loved ones, terrible jobs. These are some reasons why we become negative; we want to be positive, but something happens again. I myself have a very negative personality. It is because of bullies, loss of loved ones, self-hatred, not being accepted. I want to be happy but things happen. My negativity comes a lot from losing loved ones, but mostly from not being accepted by my family when I came out as gay. Sometimes I have brief moments of positivity about myself, but it is soon dragged down. I know how all this negative stuff feels, and I want people to know that I am out here, understanding it and willing to help.

Let’s talk about Anxiety: What is anxiety? Anxiety disorders are when you feel nervous and/or fearful, like Phobias, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Social Anxiety disorder. These are anxiety disorders. They are severe and no one likes having them. Let’s go on with some definitions of these disorders, shall we?

  • Phobias (Agoraphobia counts here): Phobias are when you have a fear of something, sometimes you might not want to admit them. Arachnophobia is the fear of spiders; a lot of people have it. Trypophobia is the fear of small clusters of holes or bumps; it’s a little less common. Agoraphobia is the fear of cramped spaces with people, such as an aisle in a store full of people; this is very common.
  • Panic Disorder: Panic disorder involves frequent and sudden panic attacks. A panic attack is a feeling of sudden and intense fear that lasts for a small period of time. It causes a lot of physical feelings like a racing heart, shortness of breath, or vomiting.
  • Social Anxiety Disorder: Social Anxiety Disorder is an intense fear of social events because you feel you might get embarrassed, so you would avoid social events. This greatly affects going to school or work, and relationships

How to help with them? Counselling, medication, meditation, support groups, and self-help strategies.

Counselling is an okay way to help with it; sometimes the counselors aren’t that helpful. Medication helps a lot by improving your mood and helping you realize you’re safe. Meditation helps a lot more by letting you relieve stress and think more clearly (personally my favorite). Support groups help you realize you’re not the only one going through it and some people might have good advice on helping you with your situation. Self-help strategies are ways to help yourself by yourself, like relaxing, exercising, eating well, having fun. Always remember you can be you, and no one gets to decide your life for you. Always try to help yourself before trying other things; you never know how much you can do just by yourself

If you’re depressed, angry about something, going crazy and need to vent, then you are all free to do so to me if you'd like. Here is my Email: [email protected]
