People with ADHD have a difficult time staying focused on one task at a time. That is why simple toys that keep one's hands preoccupied help them stay focused and get their work done; they feel like they're multitasking, but they're not completely distracted. The must-have gifts for people with ADHD on this list can be used by both kids with ADHD and adults with ADHD.

Fidget spinners took over the world in 2017. Even people without ADHD wanted and loved them. The beauty of this toy is that it's totally customizable and comes in a thousand different styles. If you're a fan of the Justice League, for example, you can get a Justice League Fidget Spinner from ThinkGeek.

Unfortunately for kids with ADHD, these spinners have widely been banned from schools, as teachers and administrators believe they are too distracting to have in class. However, kids with ADHD can still use them outside of school to help them focus when they're trying to do homework—or just to have fun!

Stress balls are used in physical therapy, but they are also used to, well, combat stress. This is another item that people without ADHD use all the time, but it is definitely one of the must-have gifts for people with ADHD.

Adults with ADHD often get stressed out at work when they feel like they're being asked to handle a lot of information or a particularly big project. Squeezing stress balls helps keep their hands preoccupied so they can stay focused at the same time that it aids in relieving stress. This particular item is unique because the stress ball is on a string, so you can also throw it out of your hand and have it come right back to you.

I don't have ADHD and I used to play with these toys all the time. Water Wigglies, which are basically gel toys often filled with confetti or other small objects, are fun, cute, and useful for those with ADHD. The squeezing aspect of this toy works the same way a stress ball does, but it feels much more squishy.

Another reason this toy works as a great gift for someone with ADHD is that they can move the objects inside around—in this case, dolphins.

Yo-yos are also great thinking toys because of the repetitive motion. Picture it: Some Wall-Street executive is sitting in his office, contemplating numbers and stocks with his feet up on his desk, as he casually plays with a yo-yo in search for a brilliant new idea. And yes, his yo-yo has a cool design on it because everyone needs a little fun. I bet you he'd say these are must-have gifts for people with ADHD.

The rail twirler is like a yo-yo on a stick, so you don't have to worry about the string getting all tangled up or losing control of it and having it end up underneath someone else's desk. This toy comes in many styles and colors, too, so you can have fun picking one out. Personally, I like the light-up one!

The number puzzle was all the rage when I was in school, but it can be used by virtually any age group. This puzzle takes more of your attention, so you can't play with it while you're doing something else, but it can still help you sharpen your focus. That's why it makes our list for must-have gifts for people with ADHD.

The way it works is simple: You scramble up all of the numbers on the little board and try to get them back in order again. There is one open square so you can move the other squares around, so you have to be strategic about your movements.

If you want to get a great gift for a child with ADHD, go with the Bop It. It's a tried and true game that is fun, physical, and challenging. There have been multiple versions of Bop It made over the years (this one is a Bop It Extreme 2), so you'll have plenty of options when you go shopping.

The Bop It is a great toy for kids with ADHD because it gives several different types of commands, so it will hold their attention and they'll use a decent amount of energy playing with it.

This is a great gift for anyone who needs to take pills regularly, including people with ADHD. When you're out in public, you want to be discreet about taking your pills. Besides, carrying around prescription pill bottles is a great way to attract unwanted attention from pickpockets.

Get yourself, or someone else who needs one, a colorful and imaginative pill box to take with them on the go. These products are must-have gifts for people with ADHD in the truest sense of the phrase, because people need their pills.

There are millions of bobbleheads out there, from political figures to sports players. This bobblehead by Royal Bobbles is made to look like King Tut, so he'd be a cool choice for any kid or Egyptologist.

Not only is it a fun way to decorate your desk, but making the head bob is a good way to keep your fingers busy while you're reading.

The game of Cat's Cradle is the ultimate toy for occupying your hands. Using this toy involves both physical motion and brainpower, which would help anyone with ADHD get in their zone. It may be a kid's game, but it can be used and enjoyed by anyone, making it one of the must-have gifts for people with ADHD.
