No Room to Complain

Silence is the real crime against humanity.

We wake up, we make my coffee, we plug in the music and think about how grateful we are to be alive, to have been given the chance to be able to wake. To be able to see, hear, smile, laugh, walk, talk, sing, pet our pets. Say good morning to our parents. Seeing the colors outside. There is so much for us to be grateful for as soon as we wake up. Why do we always catch ourselves complaining about the smallest things that some people don't even have?

We complain because it's too hot in the car, meanwhile most people don't even have cars. We complain the we are too tired to walk, when some people never had the chance to walk, or will never have to chance to walk again. We complain about how bright it is out side, some people will never know what the sun looks like, all they see is dark, now that's something to complain about.

We shower, we eat, we have all the necessities we need to survive but we complain because the media tells us there is better things out there. Nicer clothing that we have, that you should wear name brand clothing. We think we aren't good enough if we don't look a certain way. If we don't wear the "right" clothing pieces for the seasons. We aren't good enough because we have low income job, or we don't have a job at all.

Not everyone is going to be living in Toronto living the dream or Hollywood and even then those people don't have perfect lives. We all have challenges but that doesn't give us a right to complain about the smallest thing. Michelle Rounds, Rosie O'Donald's ex wife, died from suicide, Chris Cornell died from suicide, Robin Williams died from suicide, Chester Bennington—Suicide, all these great musicians and actors we never heard them complain about much, from the outside it appeared they were living the dream, loving life, never having any struggles to deal with. Depression kills so many and the silence is what does it.

We have so much to say when we have things to complain about but when there are other people in times of depression, despair, hurt, tragedy nobody ever speaks up. They don't complain, from the outside anyways. On the inside of their heads it's a whirlwind of hateful thoughts and feelings, the negative selves coming out. I'm sure they are grateful for what they have but something in the head is telling them other wise.

That we aren't good enough, that we don't belong in this world, that nobody loves us, nobody wants us in this world. We know that's not the case but in our heads we believe it to be true. People say I wish... It's too hot... It's too bright... My feet hurt... Next time you want to complain just think about all the people in the world that don't have all of the luxuries you may have. Clothing, food, a roof over their heads, TV, phones, electricity, FAMILY. Sometimes being quiet is good and sometimes it can mean the world.

The world is full of choices. We can choose to complain about the smallest things and let the world know we are unhappy with the world or we can be silent and never let anyone know how unhappy we actually are and put on a smile so that others can be happy. We are here in this world, we only have one life to live. Our own. We need to make our own happiness, be so happy that you never want to complain about a thing ever again.

Every breathe we take we need to be thankful. Never complain about what we want, or what we wish we had... someone always has it worse than the complainer and even then all you'll ever see is a helping hand and a smile.
