anxiety
A look at anxiety in its many forms and manifestations; what is the nature of this specific pattern of extreme fear and worry?
Traumatic Effects
What is Emotional Trauma? Symptoms of emotional trauma, an emotional outburst, extreme anxiety, and relationship issues, may seem very “crazy,” but these expressions are nothing more than a human reaction to a very abnormal situation. Bluntly, emotional trauma stems from any situation that makes us, and other mammalian species, think that we are in danger.
Raven BlackPublished 3 months ago in PsycheVanishing Trails: Mysterious Disappearances in National Parks
Is it possible for someone to completely disappear off the face of the Earth, leaving no clue to their fate? Or go missing for days, unable to remember what has happened to them? Worse still, meet their death in bizarre circumstances with no plausible explanation? In this exploration, we delve into 10 cases where individuals ventured into national parks and never returned, echoing David Paulides' belief that these cases and hundreds like them are unusual and mysterious. With the lack of any other explanation, one must ponder: Is there something about national parks and other forested areas around the world that pose an unknown but sinister danger to us all?
I don't want to kill you
There's an unknown hand in the darkness. That's it, I can't describe it to you. It's just a hand, that's unknown and it's in darkness. All I can really tell you about this hand is that it seems very passionate about my stomach. As if there's a surprise hiding beneath me like it's ready to open a jack in a box. I wonder why this unknown hand likes my stomach so much. I like that name, unknown hand.

I envy you
You weigh on my chest, capture my breath. I'm held captive in your hold and stripped of all that I know. I'm a helpless, fallen soul beholden to empty hope. I'm lost here, all on my own. I'm lost here, broken to the bone.
Aathavi ThangesPublished 3 months ago in Psyche CBT vs DBT: What you need to know
I often get asked by my patients what’s CBT vs DBT? It can be quite confusing trying to understand these different mental health treatment modalities, so I thought I’d cover it in a blog. Given we experience up to 6,000 thoughts each day, this leaves us ample room for negative thoughts. It’s important to understand how the two therapy types can help us manage these potentially negative thoughts and emotions.

Just as with me, your radiance shines brightly too. This light holds a universal essence, and the Universal Laws serve to illuminate and empower us throughout this journey we call life.

Last year, I did well. For a few solid months straight I was super motivated. I wrote articles every day and struggled to decide which projects to work on. Build my audience on Vocal media or here on Medium, finish editing the final draft of my book, and continue writing the new book I’m working on, I capped out most months on my eBay listings on my store. And I still have all of that going on, but I also have a real estate license to study for, as well as all the typical ‘mom-wife-life’ stuff I have going on.
Hope MartinPublished 3 months ago in PsycheTraining Psychiatric Service Dogs
I had the idea for this article several years ago, but here recently I have had the overwhelming urge to write it as I have been faced with reports of several "professionals" (whether lawyers or doctors or even staff at libraries or restaurants) having insistence on knowing what certification the dog has passed, stating that in order to be a service dog that it has to have special papers, or deeming a well-behaved service dog unwelcome simply because it has no identification.
The Schizophrenic MomPublished 3 months ago in PsycheThe Psychology of Fear (for dummies) Pt. 2
A Quick Recap In one of my earlier articles, we discussed how there are various different causes of fear that have altering degrees of significance to each persons psyche, depending on how relevant it is to their innate "triggers". We discussed how fear can be intentionally taught to a person by altering their responses to certain situations, and things, as well as how certain sounds can induce fear in specific individuals, but not others. Furthermore, we discovered that the state of solitude can induce a fear-response in certain individuals, which is tied to our human evolution. However, none of those discoveries are found to induce fear for every single person across the globe. So the question still remains; What is the one thing that every living human fears, regardless of our cognitive differences?

Everyone is scared of something. But is there some thing that everyone is scared of? What is the scariest thing possible? Is it thunder? Could it be shadows? Or perhaps being burned alive? The scariest thing, when seeking a universal fear that transcends cultural, age, and neurological differences, lies in the realm of the mind. To comprehend the origins of fear, we have to delve into the complicated process of how fears are learned.
