Hope is never lost.

From a very young age, the little girl had to learn how to be a survivor. No one ever taught her how to love. Her mother was nothing but a disappointment. She couldn't cry to her mother, or ask for a bandage for her boo-boos. Her mother drowned herself in a world of drugs, and violence. She was never mentally present in the girl's life. The little girl would go to sleep at night with no food or water. She would cry herself to sleep every night. The only thing that kept the girl going, was her little sister. She knew she had to care for her. The young girl was only two years old. She fed, and changed her baby sister. She didn't know what she was doing. The young girl protected her baby sister from the bad men. She protected her from the beatings. The little girl would lay her body over her baby sister's and tell the man, "Hit me." The tears suddenly became no more, and her heart became hardened. She wouldn't let anyone in her heart. The little girl learned to shut everything out. Anything bad that happened was locked away. It was never reopened.

The young girl was repeatedly abused by her mother's lovers. She would tell her mother how she was hurt, and her mother would scream at her. She called her a liar, and many other things. The little girl realized there was no hope, or help for her. Her mother was gone. The once fun-loving person she used to see was gone. There was a horrible monster that had consumed her mom. Someone she didn't even know anymore.

One day the bad man hurt the little girl very badly. Her mother watched as she screamed in pain. She didn't once help her daughter. The little girl knew that her mother completely gave up on her. The girl's mother took her to the emergency room, and the doctor said he was calling social services. Her mother was in denial, when the doctor told her the young girl was bleeding, and her tail bone was fractured. Her mother was crying saying, "No this didn't happen to my baby." She then took her daughter to a home and dropped her off. The little girl was scared, she had no idea where she was. Her mother had left with her baby sister. All she could think of, was who is going to protect my sister? The other kids were mean and hateful. The woman who was in charge, she carried a thick paddle. If anyone looked at her wrong she would let them have it. The young girl felt so alone. The little girl couldn't even ask a question without being hit. The little girl started to hide within herself. She learned to not talk at all.

Social services came and took the little girl. They put her in a foster home, and it seemed nice at first. The woman who was the girl's foster mother, had two boys. When the woman wasn't looking, the boys would laugh and tease the little girl. One day after the little girl had all her school supplies. She was coming home from school. The two boys stopped her and pulled her backpack off. They started holding her down, and touching her in places they shouldn't of been. She cried for them to stop and they just laughed. She was shaking, and when her foster mother got there, she went silent. The boys went outside and played. The young girl saw her chance. She told her foster mother what had happened. The woman looked at the young girl and said "I know a lot has happened to you, but my son's would never do the things you said they did." She called her a liar and told the young girl she needs help. The next day the young girl was being sent away again. She knew she shouldn't have said anything.

The young girl was sent to foster home after foster home. No one wanted her because of what she had been through. She was a part of the system for two years. No one ever showed her love. Everyone just said she was trouble and that she would be a handful. The young girl was seven years old about this time. She was as silent as could be. She realized she couldn't say anything, because she would be sent away. The young girl became afraid to talk to anyone. She kept everything hidden inside herself. The day came where she met a really nice lady who wanted to adopt her. The young girl went and had a few visits with her birth mother supervised. Social services had given the girl's mother lots of chances to be a mother. Even after all the hurt, and danger the girls mother put her through. She was taken away and given back to her mother repeatedly. She was abused over and over again. She saw her mother at the supervised visit. She was crying, and blaming herself. The little girl loved her mother. Even after all the pain. She was put through, she still loved her mother. Her mother told her, "You have to go with this nice lady now. She will take care of you." The little girl cried. She didn't know what to do. She didn't trust anyone. She didn't know if this lady was different. All she wanted was to be loved.

The next day the little girl was adopted. The woman and her husband picked her up. She was on her way to the car, and realized there was another young girl. She looked closer. It was her sister!!!! She was beyond excited, and she hugged her sister so tight. She felt like for once everything was better. Her adoptive mom and dad took her to their beautiful home. It was the biggest home she had ever seen. She felt like she could get lost in it. The young girl and her sister did not talk to anyone. It took them a week or so to start talking. They learned what love was, and learned that there are good people out there. The young girl and her sister were finally happy. They had each other. They had a home, and loving parents. The young girl grew up to be a mother herself. She was a wonderful mother. She learned how not to be. She learned that god helped her through her struggles, and that she never was alone.
