Cliché

How many times have you internally rolled your eyes at the whole "it gets better"? How many times have you heartlessly scrolled past the "stay alive" messages on your feed? How many times have you read poems like these and felt nothing, begging you not to take your life? I promise that this is a sign not to leave, this is a sign to stay here. The words you hear constantly are your signs; "it gets better." It's over-said and overheard but it's the cliché truth; everything will be okay in the end.

If You Leave

I want you to know something; if you take your life tonight, yeah, the world would keep spinning and the seasons would keep changing, but it won't be the same for me. My world will stop spinning, the flowers that once bloomed in my heart will whittle away and die. The ocean waves that crash peacefully onto the islands of my mind will turn into monsters; unbearable and uncontainable beasts. The seasons will become meaningless; the autumn air won't be the crisp happiness anymore, the cozy-fireplace chills of winter won't come along anymore, the musty-warmness of spring grass will mean nothing anymore, the cold watermelon-scented tans of summer won't be fresh onto my soul anymore. Everything would change if you left; your pain would disappear only for mine to grow.

The Power of Time

Know that what you're going through in this very moment may not matter in a year, a month, a week, or even a day from now. Because a year ago, you were dealing with something that you thought you weren't going to be able to get through, whether that thing was a major or minor thing. But look at yourself now; you got through it.

Bloom

You're like a flower; delicate, but unique from the rest. You may have similarities to others, whether it's the color of your petals or it's the season you grow best in. But you don't look exactly like every other flower out there. You're also like a flower as in you need rain to grow. Too much sunlight will make you become nothing but dry-hearted, so therefore, you need the rain and harsh storms to bloom into the most beautiful flower. It's what you need to carry on.

The Weather Today

In a snowstorm of suffocation,

a tsunami of overthinking,

a foggy field of silence,

a heatwave of anxiety,

a storm of grief,

a blizzard of insecurity,

a windy beach of negativity,

just know that there is someone else out there

who is standing in similar places, dealing with

the same weather.

You are not alone.

You deserve happiness.

You're going to wake up one morning with pride in your eyes and an imperfectly repaired heart as the heat of your soulmate rests beside you. You'll be in the kitchen, maybe pouring yourself a cup of coffee or packing your lunch for the day as the love of your life slips their hands around you and holds you tightly. You'll go on through your day and feel the weight of the world nowhere near your shoulders. You'll feel a smile grow onto your face as you walk down the street and it won't feel forced. You'll be able to truly take in the sound of the birds that chirp and the shuffling of winded branches, the street lamps at night will no longer reflect into your teary eyes but instead merge into the darkened sky as if the stars are taking them in as one of their own. The words that your tongue release may not taste like anything now, or they may not make sense to others, but that one person that you call "my love" will try with everything they can to make it make sense. The wishes of falling down your tub's drain along with your tears will fade away, the nightmares that take their roles seriously and play their parts during the day will eventually be kicked from their position. The emptiness that call your eyes their home will leave, every evil feeling in your purple bones will evaporate. This pain you're feeling now will not last. This will all add up and have an incredibly large outcome of happiness. I promise you that.

Purpose Hunt

Your purpose is found by scratching the surface of creating something that has a personal significance to you and only you. Make something that only makes sense to your mind and soul, that's where your purpose of existence shows its colors.

Semi-Colon

So, it's up to you now; will you keep going or end it right now? Look at the semi-colon next time you feel stuck in that question. You have the power to keep writing a sentence to turn it into a story, or you can end your sentence right here.

Please, keep going.

It's worth it.
