A love letter to FFXIV
I just canceled my World of Warcraft subscription. After Fifteen years of playing one of my most beloved games, I couldn’t take it anymore. News of problems at Blizzard Activision was all over the internet. Allegations of bullying, harassment of all kinds, just horrible rumors of what really goes on behind the scenes at the video game developer. My heart was utterly shattered. Since 2006, I have explored almost the whole of Azeroth, got various characters to level 90 and above, made and lost friendships, joined guilds, etc.

Thanks for the trauma
May 24th, 2020 was one of the worst days of my life. Covid was in full swing, people were taking precautions, and lockdowns were happening. At 3:20 PM, I got a phone call that shattered my world. After being in the hospital since April of that year, my father gained his wings. He suffered a stroke in 2015 and it was as if the man I knew, the hard-working father who drove to work every morning to provide for his family and loved to build things, watch NASCAR and drink his Budweiser was gone. He wasn’t coming back.

I'm pissed at the Gaming Industry
I was once told by my sister that I was not born with an umbilical cord, it was more of a video cord. Ever since I was young, I have always loved video games. Imagine my surprise on Christmas morning in the 1990s when I opened one of my presents and got a Super Nintendo. I remember begging my parents to get me one because they were THE thing back then. I grew up in the original Nintendo era where you had to blow the cartridges if the game wasn’t working right. Those were the days.

Vaping is Under Attack and Why You Should Care
Recently, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer imposed a statewide vaping ban resulting in the restriction of vaping products. This angered a lot of people, not to mention those not living in the state. Other states are quick to follow it seems. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is in the process of putting out a statewide ban of vaping products, which is understandably angering a lot of New Yorkers who use vaping as a means to not smoke, not to mention my home state of Connecticut is working on a ban as well.

Blizzard Releases 'Classic World of Warcraft'
It finally happened. Blizzard Entertainment did what was once thought impossible. Yesterday, August 26th 2019, Blizzard released Classic World of Warcraft; they went all the way back to the beginning, a simpler time when there were no add-ons, no flying, no boosts, just your character and your wits. No more “easy mode” when it comes to Classic.

'Destiny' Releases New Cross-Save Feature
On August 21, Bungie released the ever-anticipated Cross-Save feature for Destiny. This feature lets you pick one account, whether it be Xbox, PC, or PS4, and copy it over so you can play with your friends. It’s fantastic. Let’s say you’re on PC like I am... but your friends play on Xbox. Cross-Save lets you copy your guardians and account and make it the “main,” meaning that despite the system you or your friends play on, you’ll be able to join them in the vast and expansive universe known as Destiny. Everything comes with you. Exotics, seals, armor, etc., because let’s be honest, do you want to grind for Thorn or Last Word again? I know I wouldn’t. Cross-Save didn’t come without its problems though... Bungie released a tweet shortly after yesterday’s reset that it was “postponed,” which sent Twitter users into a frenzy. So much salt was to be had in Bungie’s Twitter that you could season a year’s worth of french fries. It all seemed to work out though, as Bungie finally let Cross-Save go live at 3:30 PM EST. Imagine my delight when I didn’t have to fight my husband over the Xbox so I could grind out my solstice armor. (Still in green though... getting there.)

What Your Infertile Friends Want You to Know
I married my husband back in 2010. For eight years of our marriage, we had no plans of starting a family, no means to support a child; at the time, we were living with family and the idea of bringing a baby into an already unstable situation would not be the wisest of ideas. We needed a place of our own, we needed to make sure we could provide for a little one. I wasn’t worried about being a mother. I had nieces and nephews that called me Aunt and that was good enough for me.

We Need to Talk About this One Problem that People with Mental Illness Are Experiencing
Last night, I had one of the worst mental breakdowns ever in my life. My whole world just seems to have crumbled at my feet; this is the worst I’ve ever felt, like darkness just overcame my vision and all I see is black. My mind just started racing; most things that I don’t worry about, whether it is bills, budgeting for the month, even passing thoughts such as personal problems and things I usually have control over mentally are magnified 10x.

Mental Illness Does Not Define You
I just took a shower. Why am I telling you this? Because I didn’t take a shower for a whole week. My house is disorganized. Why do you care? Because I don’t have the energy to actually put things away from when we moved into the apartment a year ago. My in-laws want me to come visit them. I’m scared to leave my house, scared to face the outside world, scared of people. Scared of doing mundane tasks like grocery shopping or paying a bill. These are some of the daily struggles I face with mental illness.

'Game of Thrones' Series Finale Was Lackluster at Best
It’s over. It’s finally over. After eight years, eight seasons, Game of Thrones finally came to what some would call, myself included—a lackluster end. We saw the closure of many storylines within the show, more main characters meeting their end in what can only be described as a disappointing and frustrating end to one of the most beloved shows to ever come out of HBO.

'Game of Thrones' Season 8, Episode 5 - "The Bells" My Thoughts
Late to the party, but better late than never. Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones titled “The Bells” left almost an entire fanbase floored when Daenerys Targaryen, Queen of the Unsullied, laid waste to King’s Landing. Most knew Khaleesi as the even-tempered queen who expected to march her army peacefully into the kingdom and set up shop; this, however, was not the case.
