Psychological Openness as a Black Woman in America
This topic will probably upset some people to hear but, hear me out before you judge. Black people are often neglected when it comes to healthcare as a whole. Then we are afraid of “the system.” When I say that, “the system,” I mean if we release or speak too much, it leads us down a path of trouble, not a healing way. How can you be honest if you are worried about your children being taken away from if you say, “too much.” You are afraid they might put something down on your medical record that might “taint” your life in some capacity later on down the road.

Commitment Issues| Chapter Two
In New York City, John stood on the balcony of his Manhattan Penthouse apartment on a breezy summer night smoking a cigarette. Mona hated that he smoked cigarettes, and he usually didn't smoke while she was home. But since she was out of town, John had to do something to ease his mind from the stress of missing her. Looking out into the night sky, he had Pandora blaring Musiq Soul Child, Half-crazy, in the background. Just what he needed to hear as he went into the apartment to pour himself another shot of Paul Masson.

Book Review: Silence The Power of Quiet in a World Full of Noise
It reminds us that beauty is all around us, yet we do not pay attention rather visually or sound. To hear the beauty is through silence. Yet, if we don't have silence, we can't hear the beauty around us. The noise that we hear in our day to day lives drowns out the beauty around us. In my opinion, this may not be true for all people, but the majority of us live to survive, not living to live. We can not hear beauty, the call of life, or the call of love. As humans, we do not have the time to listen to this during our daily lives in tunnel vision. The easiest thing to hear is all the negative, what you could have done differently, focusing more on our past mistakes or life lessons versus focusing on the present and making our future moves worth something to be proud about.

Mental Health: Check-In
Rant I do not know why today is one of 'those days' for me. Let's start with what I should be happy and excited about the most. My fiance's birthday is today, and we have plans to move into our new house. Another grateful milestone that I accomplished this year and with the love of my life. Our lives have been far from perfect, and I plan on documenting it all. Maybe the words will heal me. Honestly, I am thinking of my mother. My cousin just lost his mother, and I feel for the pain he is experiencing. My lupus has put me down for weeks.

Commitment Issues
Chapter 1 As the plane landed in Denver, relief came over Mona. She made it, but it is still very much in question what her plan would be. She didn't want to stay long in Denver, and she still had her apartment and John back in New York City, but she needed to get away for a bit and find herself. Mona gathered her things, ready to exit the plane as it came to a complete stop. While leaving the plane, she took a look around the airport to see her new home for a few weeks. The dry heat hit her like a ton of bricks when she left the cold airport.
